Your vomit bags will need to be accompanied by some kind of laughter-suppressor this time around, for Angels and Airwaves get both pretentious and stupid leading up to their new releases.
The band have released a trailer (shown below) which shows the band talking about their upcoming new album and feature-length film, both entitled Love. Due for release on Valentine's Day 2010, the film "blurs the line between full-fledged live action and documentary", says front-man Tom Delonge, "with these epic kind of...meditative sequences where the sound design and the music and the picture all bend together to create a sonic experience as much as a visual one." The script, meanwhile, "tells a story of human life and destiny but at the same time really makes usual moments of life extraordinary. It's a circular narrative in many ways, where it kind of sums up the human race in a time capsule."
Showing off his delusions of grandeur (as usual) in the trailer, DeLonge says that "I wanna change how music is made, change how music is marketed. I wanna change how music is delivered. I'm gonna do it." as well as claiming that "If you really believe that you can see yourself differently, then you can affect the world around you, and if you can affect the world around you, then you can affect the world itself."
To cap the video off, the band opt for a Latin slogan worthy of Fail Blog itself. Emblazoned across their logo is the phrase "Et Plumbum Mundus Per Lumen" which the band thinks means "and lead the world by light". Problem is they didn't pick the Latin word which means 'lead' as in 'to command, set path', they chose the Latin word for 'lead' as in 'lead, a bullet, lead pipe'.
So in effect, AvA want you to bludgeon the world to death by light. Lovely. Here's the trailer:
