Ex-Blur frontman Damon Albarn is set to release a new album in July, any thoughts of an intimate solo set should be thrown out of the window as the words '100-piece Chinese vocal choir' are spoken.
Albarn will also be working with a fairly expansive orchestra also, which he figures will push the number of musicians featuring on his new album to around the one-hundred-and-thirty range.
During an interview with BBC 6Music, he stated that the album was influenced by the recent opera "Monkey" which he helped to produce last year. "It's not an opera, it's a proper record," he told the interviewer, "[But] there's something of monkeys in it."
The title of the album has yet to be revealed, although it should be forthcoming fairly soon, stay tuned for further details.
