Living primates are generally known for their skills at flinging faecal matter with great force and accuracy. Gorillaz meanwhile, are hoping to be flinging something a tad more artistic our way.

Damon Albarn's animated harem of oddities are presently completing work on their third album together. Album numero tre has the current title of Plastic Beach, which will be their silence-breaker since Demon Days was given unto us way back in 2005.

The band's supposed leader "Murdoc" issued a few tweets in connection with the album. Read them and weep, or y'know, just read them:

"Album almost finished. Drinks being mastered. Isolation kicking in. Bucket of Propofol to help me sleep. Happy 2010!!"

"Urrp!! Just finished mixing new Gorillaz track with er…'My ARSE'!. Sounds pretty good... Can't wait to play it."

"Oh yeah, Gorillaz fans. I'm far, far, far away. On a big piece of plastic floating in the middle of nowhere. Just so you know."

See, wasn't that informative. Rumoured guest appearance on the album include Mos Def, De La Soul, Bruce Willis, The Horrors, Mark E. Smith, Ozzy Osbourne, Snoop Dogg and Lou Reed. The expected release date is March 8, 2010. Here's an unconfirmed tracklisting to go with the rest of the unconfirmed news you've just read:
